THE SAN DIEGO BEER RUN IS BACK FOR ANOTHER ROUND THIS SUMMER!
The San Diego Beer Run is back and bigger than ever! Returning for its fourth year, revamped and celebrating fun, fitness and the regions burgeoning craft brewing industry, this 21+ event is sure to capture the outgoing spirit of San Diegan’s while raising much needed funds for charity.
Attracting up to 1000 participants, this year’s run has moved to the Embarcadero Marina Park South and will take place on Saturday 29 August with festivities kicking off from 6:30 am. The run will be accompanied by an expanded craft beer festival, the addition of some of your favorite tailgating games and this year opening up the beer festival to the general public – so bring all your friends!

6:30am - 7:30am Registration Tailgate
Get in early to get checked in, get fuelled up and get warmed up.
Yoga and your favorite tailgate games will keep you busy while we
do the hard work and cool down your beer.
Registrations will be taken on the morning of the run with checked
bags available to all participants.
7:30am 5K Race Begins
8:00am Craft Beer Festival - First Pour
9:00am Beer Olympics & Beer Pong Tournament Begins
11:00am Presentations – Individual Finishers & Special Event Winners
12:00pm Craft Beer Festival – Last Drinks
12:30pm Event Close
CRAFT BEER FESTIVAL
End your run and start your day with 10 of San Diego’s finest breweries. Your first two beers will be on us through our supporting breweries and additional beers will be $5 each.
- First pour at 8:00am – Last drinks at 12:00pm.
- Entry is free for participants and $20 for non-runners. Everyone receives a free 12oz beer stein.
Get together a couple of friends and show San Diego how good you are at some of the lesser recognized American sports like beer pong and flip cup.
- Prizes will go to the winners of each bracket!
- Beer Olympics – Individual $10, Teams of four $20
- Beer Pong Tournament – Teams of two $10
The San Diego Beer Run, Craft Beer Festival and all team challenges are only open to those aged 21 and above.
- Please bring photo identification with you to the event. Only state issued photo ID and passports will be accepted.
- Private security will be on-site throughout the event.
BEER RUN 2015 MAP & PARKING
Route (shown on the right): This years run starts at the Embarcadero Marina Park South, looping up through Seaport Village with breathtaking views of the iconic Coronado Bridge and marina.
This is a 5k (3.14 mi) route with a total ascent of 31.75 ft and a maximum elevation of 41.7 ft.

ABOUT OUR BENEFICIARY
All funds raised by this years run will again benefit Access Youth Academy, a nonprofit based in Mira Mesa that transforms the lives of underserved youth by focusing on academic enrichment, health and wellness, social responsibility and leadership through squash. This innovative urban squash program has seen students accepted to Ivy League Schools such as Columbia, Penn and Dartmouth along with local colleges like SDSU and UCSD.
ABOUT ACCESS YOUTH ACADEMY
Access Youth Academy was formed in 2006 and each year accepts up to 10 students to enter into this transformative 12 year program, which is delivered in three phases – 6 years through high school, 4 years in college and 2 years into their post college careers.
Our impact so far has seen:
- 33 students being accepted to college on the back of $3.8 million in scholarships
- Graduating students average GPA is above 3.5
- 12 National Squash titles
RUN THAT EXTRA MILE FOR ACCESS KIDS!!!
Every child should have equal access to achieve their full potential. You can help narrow the inequality of opportunity gap locally by raising additional fund for Access Youth Academy programs.
The cost per year to put a student through Access Youth Academy is $5000 which covers tutoring, squash equipment, academic supplies, SAT & College Application prep.
